About McHenry County, IL
Woodstock is the county seat of McHenry County. Origionally, McHenry County streached all the way to Lake Michigan, but in the mid-1800's settlers voted to divide the county along the shores of the Fox River. The county seat had origionally been the city of McHenry, but after the counties were divided
the settlers decided Centerville (later re-named Woodstock), which was centrally located within McHenry County, should be the new county seat. With the expansions of the railroads through McHenry County into Wisconsin, the populations of the area grew steadily, and residents can still enjoy a Metra Train ride into Chicago from Woodstock and many other communities in McHenry County. Now-a-days McHenry County is a far northwest suburb to the sprawling city of Chicago, and offers a variety of small villages, towns, and cities itself. McHenry County is a wonderful place to rent a home, rent an apartment, rent a condo, rent a townhouse, or rent a house. There are a nice variety in the types of homes offered in the county, and residents can easily commute towards the Chicago for work if they rent a home in McHenry County.
Renter's Insurance
The most frequently asked question I am asked about Renter's Insurance is... what is it? It is an insurance policy that the renter holds on themselves. The building owner will most likely hold an insurance policy on the property, and that will cover them for the costs of re-building the building if it were to burn down, be flooded, robbed, or any of the unexpected things insurance can cover. But what if you are decide to rent an apartment and leave the tub on, which overflows into the apartment under you. While the building owner would fix the problem, the owners insurance company is going to want to sue the person responsible, you. If you rent a townhouse and a candle you leave burning starts a fire inside your unit and destroys all your personal belongings, renters insurance can cover the replacement costs of your belongings, and possibly even pay for a motel until the damages are fixed. For a relatively low yearly cost, renters insurance can be a real life-saver!
